Our goal at The Towne Creek School is to provide a summer program packed with valuable learning and growing experiences that meet the individual needs and capabilities of our campers and offers a balance of learning and fun!
The Towne Creek School has had the same Owner/Executive Director, Judy Feinstein, since 1983. Many administrators and staff have been with the school for over ten years. The longevity and experience of degreed staff, along with the creativity and enthusiasm of new team members, help create and support a program of the highest quality for your child.
Our facility affords us the opportunity to offer a variety of activities throughout the camp day. During the summer, campers make great use of our large field area, indoor gym, library/computer room, game room, our age-based developmental playgrounds, and the in-ground swimming pool. We also have recently added a Sport Court where campers will be able to play basketball, tennis, volleyball, badminton and more.
The summer curriculum is planned by the outstanding teachers at The Towne Creek School. Each week a “What’s Happening” will be posted on the website by Friday afternoon informing you of the coming week’s highlights and activities. What’s Happenings can be found by clicking on Parent Resources on the home page. (The password will be given to you at the beginning of the session). Teachers strive to provide a structured, balanced day with a variety of activities and experiences that campers will find interesting, challenging and enjoyable. Our summer program is enhanced by a variety of field trips for students in the three year old through sixth grade programs. The threes go on walking field trips in the nearby vicinity, once a month. Pre-Kindergarten classes take a field trip once or twice a month and the summer campers (kindergarten through sixth grade), take field trips weekly. Click on the links below to find out where your class will be going this summer! Please note: Field trips are part of the camp curriculum. If your child chooses not to attend a field trip, you will need to find alternate child care for that day. All children attending a field trip must wear their Towne Creek T-shirt. Shirts can be purchased at the front office.
Specialty Camps are offered throughout the summer for campers in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. These are three to five day camps that focus on a particular interest or skill, and are taught by staff specialized in those skills. The schedule is planned so that the children participate in the Specialty Camp one to two hours per day and are still able to take advantage of the other activities planned for the day.
Free Swim Program
Our free swim program is part of the curriculum offered to campers in the PreK classes and up. Our pool is monitored by lifeguards who have been certified in the Red Cross or the YMCA certification program. The PreK students swim twice a week while Kindergarten thru Sixth grade enjoy this opportunity daily. Elementary Campers’ Free Swim schedule changes daily and is based on the group they are in. Please ask your child their group number then check the Free Swim Rotation Calendar to see what time they will be swimming each day.
Each week, toddlers through sixth grade have a scheduled “Splash Day”. Toddlers and Two Year olds play in sprinklers, the thress play in sprinklers and kiddie pools or the water slide, and PreK through 6th grade enjoy all of these things plus the swimming pool. Click on the link under your child’s age group for your summer splash day schedule.
Swim lessons are offered for children 3 years and up (children must be 3 years of age by August 31, 2017). Our pool is 4 feet deep at the deepest end, and is great for teaching new swim skills to our younger campers, and for encouraging our older campers to practice their swimming skills. Our “Learn To Swim” program covers all skills with the exception of deep-water swimming and diving, and is taught by a Red Cross Certified Instructor. Swim lessons are offered in two-week sessions, consisting of 8 lessons of skill teaching, and 2 lessons of skill practice/swim fun.
Spaces are limited and enrollment is based on a first come, first served basis.
