Our goal at The Towne Creek School is to provide a summer program packed with valuable learning experiences, growing experiences, and a lot of fun!
With degreed staff planning the curriculum, along with our experienced camp counselors, it’s a winning combination of people dedicated to your children having the best summer possible!
Our facility affords us the opportunity to offer a variety of activities throughout the camp day. We make great use of our large field area, indoor gym, library/computer room, game room, our age-based developmental playgrounds, and swimming pool.
Innovative activities are inspired by balancing encouragement, meeting individual needs, and providing physical outlets. Our emphasis is not only on having a great time but on character building, team building, and learning about oneself. The goal of our staff is to plan activities that our campers will find interesting, challenging, and that they will absolutely enjoy!! We plan activities in the following areas:

Thematic Days are exciting and so much fun to look forward to, such as: Towne Creek Olympics, Towne Creek Gladiators, Beach Bums, Final Frontier, Builder’s Square, Camp Scene Investigators (CSI), and Dog Day Afternoon.
In the past, we have offered the following specialty camps:
Art Camp, Theater Camp, Science Camp, Dance Camp, Basketball Camp, Baseball Camp, Soccer Camp, Cheerleading Camp, Computer Camp, and Culinary Camp. We decide the camps offered by April of each year. Each of the camps will be offered certain weeks, taught by staff skilled in the particular area. Campers can enroll for one or more of these camps at NO ADDITIONAL COST. Information specific to each camp will be provided in late April.
*There may be a nominal supply/equipment fee for some of the camps.*
Our program is enhanced by a variety of field trips (one per week) that have included, but are not limited to: Moody Gardens, Cypresswood Stables, Lazertag, Bounce U, Kicks Indoor Soccer, Houston Astros Game, Incredible Pizza Co., Fun Tiki, Skate Central, Texas Rock Gym, Miller Outdoor Theatre, movies, bowling, and community service projects. In addition, we have special events here at Towne. One of the summer favorites is the annual LOCK-IN or MAYHEM TIL MIDNIGHT, where the kids have the building all to themselves, starting with dinner, followed by an evening filled with our most elaborate group games, sports, crafts, dance routines and team-building activities.
Our free swim program is part of the daily curriculum offered to campers aged 5 and up. The head of our pool staff is certified in Red Cross or the YMCA certification program. The kids enjoy this daily opportunity of keeping cool and playing games planned by our pool staff.
Our pool is 4 feet deep at the deepest end, and is great for teaching new swim skills to our younger campers, and for encouraging our older campers to practice their swimming skills. Our “Learn To Swim” program covers all skills with the exception of deep-water swimming and diving, and is taught by a Red Cross Certified Instructor. Swim lessons are offered in two-week sessions, consisting of 8 lessons of skill teaching, and 2 lessons of skill practice/swim fun.
Some parents seek some academic help for their children during the summer months. We usually have a teacher on staff who can offer tutoring services. Just let us know if you are interested, and we will discuss scheduling and fees for this service.
During the summer, we strive to provide opportunities for learning new skills and concepts, while reinforcing those previously acquired.
Our staff plan, as always, according to the individual needs and capabilities of our children, and provide an environment in which children find joy in learning.
You will receive detailed information regarding our summer themes and activities no later than the last week of April. The skills emphasized throughout the school year have been taught in a creative, challenging manner, and we will continue to reinforce those skills in the summer months as well. Our academic program does not come to a halt simply because it’s summertime!!
You will receive a “What’s Happening” on Thursdays to inform you of weekly highlights and upcoming activities, such as splash day, field trips or special events. Children will continue to be exposed to math and language concepts through circle time and learning centers. Other daily activities include art, science and discovery, pre-reading, pre-writing, phonics, music, movement, motor development, songs, games and stories.
For children in our two and three year classes, Splash Day is held once a week on the field with kiddie pools and sprinklers.
For children in our Pre-K and T-K program, Free Swim is offered daily, or every other day, depending on our particular summer schedule. You will receive information in May regarding the swim schedule and what to bring.
are offered for children who become 3 years of age by August 31.
